Cintia Bio

Cintia Castillo

Recruitment Coordinator

I am a first-generation Latina born and raised in the DMV from parents who immigrated here from El Salvador. Being the first gene truly shaped me and made me appreciate all the job opportunities before working for Kitchen of Purpose. I have years of experience working in the private sector and recruiting. Previously I was recently working as an IT recruiter for companies across the country. I received my B.A. in Political Science and Concentration in International Relations from Virginia Commonwealth University. When attending VCU, I had the opportunity to intern with a non-profit organization that supports children from 3rd world countries receiving medical attention at VCU hospital. Also, I would work part-time for a community center in RVA for families who were seeking employment and daily resources.

Joining the Kitchen Of Purpose team will allow me to continue to help others and empower those who would want to drive to success. I am currently in the process of going back to school to receive my law degree in Immigration Law. My long-term goal is to be a mentor for first-generation students who want to continue studying and also be an advocate for those individuals who may need legal support. I enjoy thrifting, museum hopping, and enjoying nature in my free time. I also like to read and spend time with my loved ones.
