You Can Make a Real Impact
Help us change the lives of our local residents through culinary training, job placement, small business development, and food assistance.
Estela Flores | Graduate
Estela Flores is a 49 year old single mother of two and a grandmother from El Salvador. Before participating in the Culinary Training Program, she was working three jobs, two in the kitchen and one in cleaning. Today, after completing her culinary training she went from earning $18 an hour to $23 an hour at Miriam's Kitchen. There were moments when Estela wanted to quit because she faced many challenges. She had to balance strengthening her culinary skills, learning English, working at the same time, and making sure her kids were taken care of. In the end, she is happy she pushed through because her new earnings will allow her to reduce her workload and focus on her family.

Our programs provide quality culinary training, job placement, small business development, and food assistance to combat daily financial challenges.
