Mark S. Ingrao

Mark S. Ingrao, CCP, CAE, Chief Executive Officer for the Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors – National Association, has more than 20 years of senior-level association management experience.  Mark began his association career with the Apartment and Office Building Association, where he served as Vice President of Government Affairs – VA.  Prior to joining PHCC, he served as the CEO for the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association and before that role, Mark served as President & CEO of the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce. Formerly, he was Principal of Aspen Strategies, LLC. Prior to that he was VP of Government Affairs for the National Apartment Association.  Mark has been exposed to the building trades his entire life; his father was a carpenter by trade and owned a construction company that built high-rise multifamily and commercial complexes.


Prior to his association positions, Mark was an Associate with the executive recruiting firm of Heidrick & Struggles, Manager of Recruitment for the National Business Development Practice of Arthur Andersen, LLP., and held various positions at Washington Gas including Public Affairs Area Manager and Manager of Compensation.


Mark is active with several professional and community organizations. He serves as Vice Chairman for the Reston Hospital Center Board. Mark also served on the Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance Board.  Mark served as a member of the University of Mary Washington’s Board of Governors holding the positions of Secretary and Vice-Rector. He is past Chairman of the Board of Regents for Leadership Arlington and the Arlington Chamber of Commerce.  Additionally, Mark served on various boards including the Community Residence, Inc., Arlington Free Clinic, Virginia Public Access Project as well as CrisisLink’s Advisory Board. He was appointed by the Fairfax Board of Supervisors to the Fairfax Affordable Dwelling Unit Advisory Board in 2002.


In 1981, Mark earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Mary Washington. He is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).  Mark is a graduate of Leadership Arlington’s 1999 inaugural class.  He is single and lives in Falls Church.
