Shana Flores

Workforce & Social Services Coordinator

Shana Flores joined the Kitchen of Purpose family in October 2023. She has years of experience working with low-income communities in the nonprofit sector.

She received her B.A. in Communications from Marymount University and a minor in Public Relations. After completing her education she worked with INOVA as a case manager and provided housing services, medication assistance, referral management, food assistance, and  counseling service resources. While working there she realized her passion for serving low-income individuals.

From a young age Shana has volunteered in various community events, she has enjoyed serving the community and seeing the impact it can have on individuals and communities. While in college, she joined the Hispanic Student Union and was the Vice President of the club which focused on building community presence on campus, while also addressing issues affecting the Latino identity and culture. Shana enjoyed this so much that she later joined Edu-Futuro and became an Associate Council. There, she took part in organizing events to fundraise for the program, which focused on underserved youth and families through mentorship, education and workforce development.

Besides serving the community, Shana enjoys spending time with her family, exploring new cuisines and speakeasy, reading, traveling, and videography.
